In the last post, I discussed some niche blogging success habits. This is the concluding part of the article. But instead of this being a part 2 to the first article, I decided to change the title to qualities of successful bloggers. I hope you do enjoy it!
* Positive Mental Attitude
Successful bloggers have a positive mental attitude. They are optimistic; they have faith in their work. Even if the results are not commensurate with their expectations, they keep on believing. Without this habit, I’m afraid you cannot succeed with niche blogging. When you first start, it would seem as if you are communicating with yourself. When you check your stats and realize no one is visiting, it can be discouraging but successful bloggers make it a habit to believe things are going to work out well. Without this quality, you’ll back out even though success is just around the corner.
* Consistency
Successful niche bloggers are consistent in all things. They are consistent in what they believe in. At all times, readers can predict them. If you say your blog believes in natural remedies, do and say things consistent with that cause. Don’t confuse your readers. It would really help if you draw up a mission statement for your blog from the word: go. The mission statement should be posted on the blog. It should guide you in all you do.
Successful bloggers are also consistent in posting, networking and building back links. They are not consistent only when things are going the way they want them to be. Be consistent even when you’ve had a bad day!
* Good Quality Content
Another habit of successful bloggers is that they post good quality content. They realize that good quality content is KING on the Internet and go to all lengths to satisfy and empower their readers.
* Personality
Successful bloggers allow their personality to shine through. Most times, their blog is just an extension of their personality. They don’t hide behind blog posts. They share stories from their lives to drive home a lesson or two.
* See Work as Fun
Successful bloggers see their work as fun. It’s not a chore for them. They consider their blogs not as a boring occupation or income generating machines, but as something they enjoy doing, having fun whilst getting paid to do it. They love what they do and would still do it even if they weren’t being paid to do it. They don’t just write around high cost keywords (CPC), they only write what they enjoy writing about.
* Do Research and Keep Notes
One challenge bloggers face is that of lack of ideas. But, it need not be so because bloggers get great ideas for posts, when they least expect (like when taking a shower or doing household chores). Instead of making a mental note of them and writing them down for later use, they allow such ideas slip away. The successful blogger, on the contrary, makes it a habit to write down ideas the instant they pop up, so that they don’t forget to work on them later. You may not believe it, but, this could be the big difference between a successful blog and an unsuccessful blog.
Aside taking notes, successful bloggers keep tabs on their blog’s most popular content and identify what keywords, websites and search engine, are getting visitors to their site. This helps to produce new ideas for fresh content, thus getting more popularity points for their blogs.
They also analyze their competition and study their readers’ needs and demographics. They then customize their content, design, and general focus of their blog to satisfy those needs. Successful bloggers thoroughly research their subject before writing to ensure the uniqueness and accuracy of the blog post and their credibility as a blogger.
* Build an Audience
Successful bloggers know the importance of cultivating a genuine readership. They know the importance of having people who will stick around the site for a long time and they go in search of such people. Whether it’s attracting RSS or email subscribers, they’re always in search of highly effective ways to enlarge their audience. Also make this your goal from the beginning; build an audience like the successful bloggers do.
* Connect with other Bloggers
The popular saying that “no man is an island” also holds true in the blogging industry. Successful bloggers realize this, so, they always extend the hand of friendship to other bloggers. This helps them get links and gain social media promotion for their blog. As a budding blogger, make it a duty to build solid relationships with other like minded bloggers in your niche; this will not only help in promoting your blog, it will help expand your readership.
Whether it’s through commenting, twitter , digg, or facebook, connect with other bloggers and build relationships like the professionals do.
* Building Links
No blog can succeed without building links. Link building is vital for the success of any blog but successful bloggers do not build ‘spammy’ links. They build it over time. They go for the genuine methods of link building only, which guarantees them results for many years to come.
I really can’t say but somehow, I feel there are other qualities of successful bloggers not mentioned in this post. For all I care, there might be another post on it but you just keep reading. I promise you a swell time. You won’t regret the time spent reading this blog.
